**Side tangent; what does that mean? This means that I can log on to my Google Calendar account, make some changes, and they will automatically be linked to my Blog. You can also embed videos such as from WeberTube, meaning you can upload your video to WeberTube and have it play here on the blog. Anyways, back on track....
So first of all, you have to create a Google Account. Go to https://www.google.com/accounts/Login?continue=http://www.google.com/&hl=en
Create an account, and I would suggest using your WSD email address, just so you can confirm it while here at school. Follow the instructions..... Once you're setup, create a Calendar. We can discuss further details if needed.
So you've got your Calendar created, now you'll have to make it public. Go to the Settings, and "Share this Calendar". Make it public.
You'll see in the General Settings an "Embed This Calendar" spot with some html code. All you have to do is copy and paste that code to a page on your blog. You will have to be on the "CODE" tab while pasting it in. It will look something like this:
"<iframe src="http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=jumcfarland%40weber.k12.ut.us&ctz=America/Denver" mce_src="http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=jumcfarland%40weber.k12.ut.us&ctz=America/Denver" style="border: 0" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>"
*********************************************************************************************************
So when you've got your "Calendar" page, and you've put this html code there... and it's TOO BIG; just edit the size of it. Notice the 800 and 600. That's the dimensions. I've currently got mine at 480 X 360.
Mess around with it, and you'll get it. Then go into your google account, make an entry on the calendar, and watch it appear on your blog.
Thank you Justin! I tried it and it works. Your directions are great and easy to follow.
ReplyDeleteI got a calendar uploaded on my page but can't shrink it. How do I edit its dimensions?
