This topic will show you how to embed or hotlink an image onto your blog. Rather than uploading an image from your computer, you can find an image that already exists online, on somebody else's website.
So, rather than finding an image, saving it to your computer, then uploading it to your blog.... just link to it and embed it right on your page. This avoids using your allowed uploaded attachment space. Granted, 2GB is a lot of room, but if you're like me, you'd be filling that space up pretty soon.
Once you embed it to your blog, you can grab the edges and resize it to what best fits your blog.
Be sure to recognize the downside to this, meaning you do not control this content. If the original owner of that image deletes it from their website, that will break your link. Your image will no longer be visible.
One more quick note about images and their links. If the actual image is going to be too distracting from your outline, you can just post the link to the image like this: (click it)

You can email this link as well, rather than sending the image as an attachment. This will greatly reduce the size of your message, while still showing the desired images.

Hi Crystal, I wonder if your problem with uploading images was related to the "Flash Uploader" not working very well on the old blog software. We have just updated to the latest version of Wordpress, you might want to give it another try.
ReplyDeleteOn your blog header where it asks for that image, check your theme options to see if you can assign an image to that spot. If not, this would have to be changed centrally on our server by Justin Reeve. Otherwise, you could change to a different theme that doesn't require as much customization. Good luck!
